First LEGO League

On Saturday, December the 10th, a qualifying tournament in robotics and science - First LEGO League – was held in Kyiv, in the Palace of Children and Youth. The tournament brought together 25 schools from all over Kyiv. During the event the most talented children aged 9 to 16 years presented their innovative ideas- startups - on the topic "Side by side with the animals." The participants also demonstrated autonomous robots which they constructed themselves on the basis of the modern meccano LEGO Mindstorms NXT. The teams from Scandinavian Gymnasium and "Prestige-Osvita" out-of-school educational center also participated in this tournament with dignity presenting themselves. The "Hacker Squad" team won themselves a place in the First LEGO League national championship in robotics and science. And the "Lego Masters" team won the first place in the "Core Values" nomination.
