Participation in the project

From September the 28th through October the 5th Scandinavian Gymnasium took part in the global project "The World's Largest Lesson" by UNICEF. The aim of this project is to tell the children about global sustainable development objectives which were adopted in the spring and will be relevant up to 2030.

Tamara Beresh, the Assistant of the Department of Public Information of the UN Office in Ukraine, Olga Samoilova, the Assistant of the Information Department of the UN Children's Fund in Ukraine (UNICEF) and Yelyzaveta Fedorovska and Natalia Pedchenko, the participants of the Youth Advisory Group of the United Nations delivered lectures for the students of 7-A, 6-B, 7-B, 5-B and 2-B forms.

During the lessons the students were looking for and offered solutions to such global problems as overcoming poverty and hunger, cleaning water, providing electricity, providing quality education, gender equality, and protecting the planet, peace and justice.
